Now we're returning with gold in great store, probably to play the wild rover some more, we're back from Ireland where we had a surprisingly excellent time, centred around Emma and Brian's wedding in Charleville (Co Cork I think). We started out in Dublin, an excellent vibe town, lots of bona fide old pubs like McDaids, Kehoes, Davy Byrnes some fairly dodgy irish folk music, but mostly people up for a good time :-) Here's harpist Doug, one of the little people 4sure.

Susan eats Irish stew in Davy Byrnes, this pub was mentioned in Ulysses (anyone ever finish that book? Are all the words in the right order, or is it just me? )Jimmy the bartender has listed status, along with the building. As far as I know he isn't in Ulysses, but on second thoughts he might be, everyone else is :-)
Then on to the wedding which was a totally fabulous do, thanks so much to Emma and Brian and those who organised it. The reception was set in the grounds of Emma's parents' house. Here's Susan knocking back the good stuff in her posh dress.

We found a neat restaurant in Dublin with this sign and thought it appropriate. Certainly couldn't say that about the wedding, it was a fine affair with a lifetime supply of Champagne, that lasted the best part of 3 days. Brian's family is from Ontario, and the Canadian contingent were also in high spirits, one of them wanted to wrestle Doug at 2am......hehe.

Surprisingly we took more photos on this trip than any other, don't you know. We went to Blarney castle, Dingle, Kerry mntns, Cork, Limerick & parts of the Burren.
Here's Doug sitting on an old school desk/chair outside a pub in Co Kerry, and a car parked in the carpark of the same pub.

Now back in the UK for a few weeks before going back to Northern CA for the Napa, Las Vegas and San Diego for a spell :-)
Doug went in to RM yesterday, great to see the chaps & chapesses looking well and surprisingly little had changed, sort of expected not to recognise so many peeps - Ben is working at RM for a spell, sitting at my old desk no less ! He'll soon have it looking just right again :-))
